List of famous Bodybuilders who used steroids

The world of the bodybuilders involves impressive muscles and a stunning body. In order to achieve glory as soon as possible, some bodybuilders were capable of doing anything they could to get in the desired physical shape. While steroids were developed as treatments for various health problems, many bodybuilders used them to grow muscle mass fast and efficient. Even if one takes steroids, constant and consistent workouts and a proper diet are needed, although the results tend to appear much faster than when following the traditional route toward building a great body. Also, our genetics dictate just how much our muscles can grow through physical exercising, so if one wishes to achieve the body of a superhuman, such a thing can be possible only with the help of drugs. Thus, many famous bodybuilders admitted to using steroids at one point during their activity, so below you will find a list with the most important of them.

  • Arnold Schwarzenegger

Schwarzenegger is currently the most famous bodybuilding and public figure that admitted his use of steroids during the peak of his career as a bodybuilder. Still, Schwarzenegger wanted to mention that he used steroids only during competition and not for building his muscles, using the drugs in order to his muscles look good during the “cutting phase”. Steroids use in the 70s was legal and Schwarzenegger admitted to using only three types of steroids, called Primobolan, Deca Durabolin, and Dianabol. Also, as several insights into this matter revealed, Schwarzenegger did not abuse steroids, many present days’ bodybuilders using much higher doses of steroids than Schwarzenegger ever used.

  • Ken “Flex” Wheeler

This is one bodybuilder that started using steroids from the age of 18 and continued to do so not just during this activity as a bodybuilder but even further on, in his everyday life. He took both pills and injections as well, not thinking about the side-effects of taking steroids for so many years in a row. Coming from an underprivileged family and being abused as a child, the world of bodybuilding gave Wheeler the recognition and value he longed so much to achieve. It is not known exactly what kind of steroids cocktail Wheeler used, although some say that he used mainly Tren, about 1400 mg per week. His long use of steroids got him a kidney transplant, which made him continue his treatment with steroids, not for his career but for keeping him going this time.

  • Ronnie Coleman

Although everybody was doing it, Ronnie Coleman refused to admit his use of steroids for years in a row. This was due to the fact that Coleman was a police officer and in the country where he lived, the United States of America, the use of steroids was considered illegal, so he had to respect the law. But, finally, in 2011, Coleman admitted using steroids in an interview for the Muscular Development magazine. The steroids cycle used by Coleman is not known for sure, due to the fact that he denied it for so long, so some suggest that he may have used Sustanon, Anadrol, Dianabol, Deca Durabolin, Equipoise, HGH, N2Guard, S-4 Andarine, and Cardarine GW-50. Of course, many think that Coleman enjoyed great genetics as well, which added to his hard work and steroids use, making him the greatest bodybuilder in the world.

  • Dorian Yates

Dorian Andrew Mientjez Yates is among the few bodybuilders that didn’t just admit the use of steroids but also agreed in talking openly about this subject. He is even the one that owns the phrase “Steroids is better than McDonald’s”, which turned him into a very honest man, even if this cost him a couple of fans. He used HGH for 12 years in a row, plus following steroids cycles that included Deca Durabolin, Sustanon, Dianabol, Aromasin, Cardarine GW-501516, Ostarine MK-2866, and N2Guard.
